The business data stored in the business systems is easily accessed by the employees, who have access to the company's network. However, this is not the case for the employees, who operate outside the company's offices.

Disconnected mode

Devices these days provides different connectivity options - WiFi, GPRS, WiMax, etc. However we are still not having full network covarage in every place of the world. There are places, where the signal quality and strenght is low.

Field workers will be frustrated trying to acomplish important and urgent business task in place, where there is no good network covarage.

NAVmobile provides fully disconnected( a.k.a. briefcase) mode, where all the business data is stored in the device during a netwrok covarage presence. Then the field workers may do their job without hunting for hostspots and quality signal around. They may send their documents and get fresh new data once they have connectivity.

 

Remote control, monitoring and upgrades

Having tens and hundreds of mobile devices is a complex management task.  Mobile devices brakes and they must be quickly replaced and priviosioned. Mobile devices may be stolen or lost and  the data must be secured.
Business evnironment changes and mobile software must be upgraded.  The mobile devices magement tasks are on of the major factors impacting the TCO of the mobile solutions.

NAVmobile provides central place for device management:

  • Devices may be provisioned remotely - new software deployment, OS configuration from the server
  • Device may be monitored remotely - mobile system logs  are stored and explored on the server
  • NAVmobile may be configired remotely - feature locking,  software upgrade , etc.
